Film Planning Assignment

1) Young girl-who represents innocence in the beginning of childhood.

     Teen girl- represents getting older and youth feelings, struggles, and situations 

2) starts out with a dark staircase, then bright light once the door opens.

    Film is black and white

    Faint color during certain scenes at the end

3) Images in film are based on the poems that will be read in voice over. 

Symbols in scenes: Butterfly wings= blooming from youth to adulthood 

                               Washing dishes= work and responsibilities 

                                Streets, cars, stoplights= decisions 

Film Idea

• My film is mostly black and white
• There is no dialogue only a voice over reading chosen poems I found from blogs and poetry websites
• The theme is about growing up and youth
• For the most part I tried to match the words in the poem with the images through symbolism and the actresses actions

• I like the shapes of the arms and especially the biceps because they look realistic and off at the same time
• The image reminds me of incense and smoke
• Looks like ink, watercolors, and chalk were used
• I like how the paper isn't just white and blank instead it has texture with a tan tint
• Reminds me of japanese art

• Image reminds me of a similar street art symbol of  a african shell that I see stenciled around the bay area
• I like how the artist designed the eye in a unique but simple way
• The yellow pops well over the black background
• I like the  thin shape of the eyelashes that hover above the eyelid

• Very grainy and foggy which matched  the construction theme of the photograph
• I like the trees in the background thats faded by the fog
• Theres a lot of gray sky space above the piles, and the sides that are slightly shaded black are a nice touch
•

• I like the vibrant color and paint splatters
• Reminds me of a scrap book
• Has a lot of mixed mediums 
• Theres a dark/light blue tone in most of the pics
• The glitter and jewels gives it a whimsical feel
• Its very busy and reminds me of a crowded street or a chaotic city
